40. Learn amigurumi and create 1 critter
I forgot to mention the huge contribution my sister made towards the accomplishment of this goal! For my birthday she brought me basically an amigurumi kit - everything I need except yarn. Check it out:

* a homemade instruction book with crochet basics and loads of really nifty amigurumi patterns, including things that look very suspiciously (and awesomely) like Peeps
* crochet hooks of every size I could possibly need
* gorgeous leaf-tipped pins
* a hand-made hook and pin pouch (that fruit-patterned beauty in the middle)
* eyes, both button- and seedbead-style, with a handy plastic case for them
* a pack of needles
* lanyard hooks (should I care to make beasties that can hang)
* an adorable penguin zippered coin purse that fits the smaller items perfectly
She also gave me the tip that thrift shops often carry cheap balls of yarn which would be perfect to use while I'm learning.
Thanks, sissy! You rock! :D
