43. Participate in 24-Hour Comics Day

This is one of the many zany online arts challenges that I've come across over the years. The idea is to create a 24-page comic in 24 hours. I've wanted to participate for ages but had I not made it one of my Things I probably never would have gotten around to it. That seems to be a trend in this here 101/1001 project, which is a lot of what's tempting me to do it again with a new list after these 1001 days are up.

Technically, I cheated: I worked with an outline I'd created previously, though to be fair I didn't even know that was against the rules until two days ago. It also turned out a lot more like an illustrated short story than a comic, but hey, it was my first time. I'm just pleased to have actually have finished something: sketched, inked, scanned, everything. Look at me, I'm actually capable of accomplishing something from time to time! For reals!

I like it! It's a little abrupt, but I especially like the thought-bubble-esque hearts and flowers and daggers and skulls.
