29. Read at least 1 of my NaNovels beginning to end
Date Completed: 23 May 2012
Having read one of my completed "novels" written for NaNoWriMo, I find I do not have any strong emotions either way. In some ways it was much better than I was expecting, in that there were a whole bunch of details (and even characters) I'd completely forgotten about. It also was far more epic - though abbreviated - than originally intended. If I were to rewrite it, I'd have to do all kinds of world-building and backstory-inventing before I could get anything to work out. But I liked how I tied up all the loose ends in one rambling paragraph, clearly having passed the 50,000 word mark but not wanting to stop in the middle of the action.
Will I participate in NaNoWriMo again? I don't know. Will I work more on this story? I don't know that either. But it was an interesting experience, and makes me feel a little better about all that time I spent writing 50,000 words in a month.
