thingism25. Get TBR pile under 50 books (even just temporarily)
The good news is that I got a couple of plastic tubs and was able to put away all my books for the BookCrossing Convention, thus clearing off enough shelf space to add my "tentative TBR" books. These include the Death Gate Cycle (which a friend strongly recommended) and the Wheel of Time series (of which I've read the first eight books and plan to reread when the final book comes out). I was able to get rid of one of the boxes that live on my study floor, which is good since I'm only using one of the plastic tubs and I am sure to fill both before April.
The bad news is that I went ahead and added these tentative TBR books (and a couple actual TBR books that somehow slipped through the cracks) to my TBR list, rocketing the total up to 179. Now, if I manage not to add too many more books to my TBR pile and reach my goal for Thing 24, then I am golden. But something tells me this is an unlikely scenario.
