Thing 19 - Complete!

I don't have any photos because the steps don't actually look all that different, but it's done. That afternoon I got all dolled up (gloves, face-mask, goggles) to use this etching/cleaning stuff on the front walk to prepare it for being sealed. The following morning we used the refinishing goop, which turned out to be more transparent than we'd expected, and thus not quite so good at covering up the blotchy bits. At least it's clean and will be easier to keep clean. If we want to we can always paint over it at some later date.
